The Best Day of Her Life

Allie is a Jack Russell Terrier. My boyfriend and I adopted her when she was eight. We're not sure where she was born, or what she did before she came to us. I often wonder if we are the highlight of her life, or just a boring retirement home. (After all, she is ten now, and that's 70 in dog years).

So, in this writing prompt, you will write a narrative poem about the highlight of Allie's life. This moment should be her shaping moment. Meaning, how she came to be the dog she is today. You could even never mention her species and allow this to humanize her. Perhaps, when this poem is through, you will have another idea on how to dramatize the most central moment of ones life.
