Fairy Tales

On the back of 365 Brand Breadcrumbs I found in my pantry this morning:  "Bread crumbs are very useful--just ask Hansel and Gretel.  Our plain bread crumbs are made from scratch and are perfect for soup, meatloaf, or your favorite casserole.  A true pantry staple, you can roll almost anything in them from chicken and fish to tofu and asparagus.  And you know what to do if you ever get lost."

Fairy tales, like Hansel and Gretel, are ingrained in our psyche.  They are a cultural language that enables us to create such silly descriptions on the sides of food products. In a short poem, perhaps in Haiku form or a rondel, describe a product or event in the same way the bread crumbs were described.

Use the fairy tale to frame the poem, but be sure it applies to the poem in some new way.
